         英语语言中心（ELC）致力于为学生提供支持与培养，助力其顺利完成全英文专业课程学习，并胜任国际化职场交流。我们秉持关爱、高效、兼具全球视野的教学理念，确保每位学生在追逐目标的过程中，都能满怀信心、目标明确地学习。

         我们的师资团队经验丰富，真心关注每一位学生的成长与进步。这支国际化团队成员来自美国、中国及其他国家和地区，曾在全球多所高校为中国学生教授英语。我们将全球视野融入每一堂课，设计兼具趣味性与实用性的课程，同时对学生保持高标准严要求。与此同时，我们深知，唯有让学生拥有归属感，学习才能达到最佳效果。我们每日陪伴学生成长，助力他们稳步进步，通过共同努力与成果庆祝建立真挚联结：一起制作青团、了解各国节日、参与班级集体活动等。

         我们的课程体系与教材均为本校学生量身定制。大一阶段，我们将综合英语能力训练与各专业前置学习相结合，帮助学生掌握学位课程所需的专业词汇、核心概念与写作技能，涵盖实验报告、商务邮件等实用场景。我们还为学生提供系统化的大学英语四级备考辅导，并开展定期测评。除应试备考外，教材内容持续更新，紧跟科技、商业领域发展前沿；同时将写作学习与哲学、历史等多学科文化思想相结合，培养学生的批判性思维与创新能力。

         我们致力于培养真正具备国际化素养的学生，而非徒有其名。我们组织学生走进金山本地实地，探访春日田野、智慧农业基地、工厂，以及国际校区附近的海岸。通过实地体验与课堂互动，学生置身真实场景，拓展思路、探讨行业趋势、开展专业领域交流。同时，借助影音资料与主题讨论，让学生接触并理解塑造国际化职场的多元文化。无论在工厂、办公室沟通，还是通过邮件联络，我们的学生都已做好准备，能够在全球任何地方开展工作、建立联结。

         我们严谨细致地教授针对性阅读、写作与词汇课程，夯实语言能力提升的根基。而许多最珍贵的学习收获，往往藏在细微瞬间：一句有趣的玩笑、一个意想不到的观点、一名学生分享的自身经历。语言不仅存在于课程之中，更生长在人与人的交流联结之间。

Welcome to the English Language Centre (ELC) at the Shanghai Zhongqiao Helsinki School of Future Engineering：

At the ELC, we are dedicated to preparing and supporting students for academic coursework in English as well as communication in the international workforce. We take a caring, effective, and globally minded approach, ensuring that every student learns with confidence and purpose as they pursue their goals.

Our faculty are experienced and genuinely invested in every student’s success. Drawn from the US, China, and beyond, our international team has taught English to Chinese speakers at universities worldwide. We bring that global perspective into every lesson, designing engaging coursework while holding students to high standards. At the same time, we know learning happens best when students feel they belong. We show up for them daily, support their progress, and build real bonds through shared effort and celebration, making qingtuan, exploring international holidays, and gathering for class events.

We construct our curriculum and textbooks specifically for students at our school. In the first year, we combine comprehensive English training with preparation for each student’s major. Students learn the vocabulary, concepts, and writing they will use in their degree courses, from lab reports to professional emails. We also provide structured CET-4 preparation with regular assessment. Beyond exams, our materials are continuously updated to reflect developments in science, technology, and business, while connecting writing to broader cultural ideas, drawing from philosophy, history, and across disciplines, to develop critical and creative thinking.

We prepare students to be genuinely global, not just in name, but in practice. Our students visit real sites in Jinshan, including the beautiful spring fields, smart agriculture facilities, factories, and even the ocean near our international campus. Through these experiences and interactive classroom work, students engage in real world scenarios, developing ideas, discussing trends, and communicating within their fields. They also gain exposure to the cultures shaping international workplaces through media and discussion. Whether communicating in a factory, an office, or over email, our students are ready to work and connect anywhere in the world.

We teach targeted reading, writing, and vocabulary with care and precision, the foundations of real progress. But some of the best learning happens in smaller moments, a good joke, an unexpected perspective, or a student sharing a story from their own life. Language lives in both the curriculum and the connection.
